A man died in a Nueva York City bus accident after being hit by a collapsing street pole that had been struck by the city bus on April 8.
According to the police, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority was trying to navigate around a disabled vehicle when it ran onto the sidewalk and crashed into the pole. The impact forced the pole to fall and land onto fifty-nine-year-old Lance Margolin who was going home from a birthday party with his wife and friends. Margolin was rushed to the hospital with head and bodily injuries where he passed away two days later.
The Nueva York Police Department Highway District Collision Investigation Squad continues the investigation into the Nueva York City bus accident. The MTA Bus Company President said that they are cooperating with the Nueva York Police Department investigation and the bus driver was withheld from the passenger service pending a detailed internal review.
